Boston Marathon During Explosion

By Amanda Shepherd @_AmandaBrittney – Today started off as any other day as the Boston Marathon runners began preparing for their race, and family friends began to get in the place on the sideline to support. It was not until the middle of the race when things went spiraling out of control, when two bombs went off near the finish line. This explosion killed two one of which was an eight year old boy, injured at least 134 patrons, 17 of them in critical condition and 25 in serious condition. And about ten of the injured had their limbs amputated.
According to CNN “Federal authorities are classifying the bombings as a terrorist attack, but it’s not clear whether the origin was domestic or foreign, a federal law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation said. A federal law enforcement official told CNN that both bombs were small, and initial tests showed no C-4 or other high-grade explosive material, suggesting that the packages used in the attack were crude explosive devices.”

While investigating the area authorities found at least one other explosive device that they were dismantling, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said. and Rep. Bill Keating of Massachusetts, said there were two more found. One unexploded device was found at a hotel near the bomb site and the other unexploded device was found at an undisclosed location. It appears this attack was well planned and coordinated.
President Obama took some time to speak to the public about the attack. He told America ”Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice. Boston “is a tough and resilient town,” he said, adding that Americans will stand by Bostonians “every single step of the way.”
